Nookle rules and how to play
Nookle hides one Animal Crossing villager a day and asks you to name them. Every guess reveals how closely your candidate matches the mystery resident across a handful of categories, which is where the Wordle-style colour feedback comes from. This page explains the board, the hint system and what the game is officially not affiliated with.
What is Nookle?
Nookle is an Animal Crossing wordle created by Chunobi as a fan project. The site says it was inspired by popular daily games such as Wordle, Loldle and Costcodle, and that it is an independent creation that is not affiliated with or sponsored by Nintendo.
Around the main board the site also keeps a villagers list and a Nookonomics section, and it cross-promotes another fan wordle called Isaacle. Everything runs on the web, so there is nothing to install before your first guess.
How to play Nookle
Tom Nook has chosen a mystery villager of the day, and you type a villager name from the list to guess who it is.
Each guess is compared across categories such as gender, species, personality and hobby. A field turns green when your guessed villager shares that category with the mystery villager, and red when the categories differ.
Favorite styles and favorite colours work slightly differently: if your guess shares any favorite style or favourite colour with the mystery villager, the field turns orange instead of red.
Hints narrow the search but only unlock after you have made a few guesses, and the filter button lets you cut the villager list down by category before you commit to a name.
The daily villager
The board is built around one mystery villager per day, so everyone is solving the same resident until the next one rotates in. Your statistics are kept for you on the site rather than shown as a public leaderboard.
This page deliberately never names today's mystery villager, yesterday's answer or any hint that would solve the round for you.
